A brief history.

It began, quite literally, as a bicycle. In 2016, Kate and Alex spent 18 months in France with their two boys, where they fell in love with the tricycles parked on street corners across Europe, loaded with ice cream, baguettes and pastries.

Home in New Zealand, they turned the old stables on their property into a commercial kitchen and pedalled a bakery bike into town every Saturday, with Alex as head pedaller. Demand for Bicycle Kitchen's baking was high and, never ones to sit still, Kate and Alex saw another dream come true in late 2025 when Bicycle Kitchen became STABLE.

They still bake in small batches, often warm from the oven. What started on two wheels has grown, but its heart hasn't changed.

Good food brings people together, and they love being part of that, one weekend at a time.
